Q&A:
Q: Is the pearl real?
A: It is a high-quality simulated pearl with a glossy, lustrous coating. Real (cultured) pearls are not used in Studex sterile piercing studs.
Q: Are these for first piercings or healed ears?
A: Both. Sterile-packed and ready to use with the Studex System 75 piercing instrument for a fresh piercing, or wear them as a hypoallergenic stud once the piercing has healed.
Q: How long should I keep them in after a fresh piercing?
A: For earlobe piercings, leave them in continuously for 6–8 weeks (longer for cartilage). Clean the front and back twice daily with sterile saline or Studex Aftercare Lotion, and gently rotate the earring each day during the healing period.
Studex White Pearl 6Mm G/P Pr-676-S
Classic 6mm white-pearl studs — gold-plated, timeless.
Studex (USA) is the global leader in sterile ear-piercing earrings — over 1 billion ears pierced in nearly 50 years (founded 1976). Made from hypoallergenic surgical stainless steel, with 24-carat gold electroplating where applicable. Each pair is individually sealed and pre-sterilised. The 'Sensitive' line is nickel-free for the most reactive ears. 6mm pearl studs — bigger than the typical 3-4mm starter pearl. The 'S' suffix denotes Studex's standard mounting. Pearls suit all skin tones and are appropriate for both casual and formal wear.
Benefits:
- Classic 6mm white-pearl stud — timeless and elegant
- June birthstone — pearl
- Hypoallergenic & nickel-safe — surgical-grade 316L stainless steel post with 24K gold plating
- Pre-sterilised in a sealed pack, ready for the Studex System 75 piercing instrument
- Made in Los Angeles, USA — Studex has led sterile-pack piercing earrings since 1976
- Suitable for daily, professional, and formal wear once the piercing has healed
- June birthdays (pearl is June's birthstone)
- Formal occasion replacement after healing
- Brides and wedding parties
- Mature/professional women preferring classic style
Main Ingredients:
- surgical-grade 316L stainless steel post with 24K gold plating
- 6mm white pearl bead
- Hypoallergenic, nickel-safe finish
- Butterfly-clasp back for secure fit
How to Use:
Used WITH a Studex piercing instrument — the studs come pre-loaded in a sterile cartridge that fits the gun. Pierce, then leave the studs in for 6 weeks (earlobe) or 12 weeks (outer ear cartilage) to allow proper healing. During healing: clean with sterile saline twice daily, twist the stud gently each cleaning, avoid harsh soaps and creams. Don't change earrings until the canal is fully healed. For wear after full healing, gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth — pearls are porous and can be damaged by harsh cleaners.
Precautions:
- Don't pierce yourself — go to a trained piercer with a sterile Studex instrument
- Stop and see a doctor if: severe pain, pus, fever, spreading redness — possible infection
- Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, and sea water during initial healing — risk of infection
- Avoid sleeping on the pierced side for the first 2-3 weeks
- Don't use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on healing piercings — they damage healing tissue
- Keep hair, makeup, and hair products away from the piercing site
- 6mm is larger than typical starter — may be heavier for very young children's ears; consider 4mm for first piercing on small ears
- Avoid perfume, hairspray, lotions on pearl earrings — chemicals dull the lustre
Q&A:
Q: Why Studex vs cheap piercing earrings?
A: Studex earrings are factory-sterilised and pre-mounted in cartridges that fit a Studex piercing instrument — the system is designed to minimise infection risk. Cheap unsterile earrings + non-medical piercing methods (DIY, ice + needle) carry HIGH risk of infection, keloids, and uneven piercing.
Q: When can I change earrings?
A: 6 weeks for earlobe; 12 weeks for cartilage (helix, tragus). Changing too soon: the piercing channel hasn't fully formed and can close or get infected. After full healing, you can use any earring style.
Q: Are these safe for sensitive ears?
A: Yes — surgical stainless steel is hypoallergenic for most people. The 'Sensitive' line uses additional nickel-free coatings. If you have a known nickel allergy, choose Studex Sensitive specifically. Real gold (24ct plating) is also nickel-free.
